Hi, I’m Heather Boatman, a leader with a relentless drive to see people be the best version of themselves. I believe that when we are motivated and supported, we can be more than we ever imagined.
I have worked with senior leaders for more than 10 years providing coaching and insights to assist them in leading their employees and driving business results. As a coach I pride myself on creating genuine, trusted relationships that are based on mutual respect. My partnership with leaders is confidential and stems from a foundation of positive intent, meaning all conversations are to further grow the leader’s ability to achieve their goals.
Having worked in Fortune 500 companies for more than 25 years I have seen many changes in the way businesses have defined and achieved success. Those that have flourished recognize that a company’s culture is a key differentiator between like businesses and what will ultimately produce high performing results. I have been fortunate to work with many strong people leaders that have looked to me to define the desired culture and work relentlessly to bring that culture to life.
I have an expertise in all aspects of an organization’s talent experience including inclusion and diversity, talent management, leadership development, internal communication, change management and associate engagement. I am extremely proud of the work I led in 2020 to ensure all of these, as well as many more, key attributes that make up a world class culture were recognized by Fortunes 100 Best Companies to Work For list.
Leadership does not have the ability to just show up in good times, it is even more important they are there when times are tough. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic I led the COVID-19 task force responsible for ensuring that there was a safe working environment for employees and shopping experience for customers. Caring for employees was the highest priority which included supporting them through the shutting down of stores resulting in furloughing most associates, the return of employees while starting the business back up, and changes in the working model including moving all corporate employees from fully in person, to 100% virtual and then evolving yet again to a hybrid format.
Today organizations have an obligation to not only support the business and their associates but to also be there for the communities where they do business. With that said I created the Burlington Stores Foundation which provided grants to hundreds of 501c3 charities which had a high importance to our employees. As President, reviewing the applications and hearing from associates as to why they nominated the organization was an incredibly powerful experience and one that reminds me everyday that the employee experience does not begin and end at the front door.
My unique ability to authentically connect with leaders and employees during large group presentations, small team meeting facilitation and one on one conversations is what has allowed me to successfully coach leaders, build strong and lasting cultures, and develop highly productive teams that achieve desired business results.
